Kirby I. Bland, M.D., of Birmingham, is a graduate of the University of Alabama School of Medicine at Birmingham and the Medical College of Alabama in Mobile. A veteran of the U.S. Army and U.S. Navy, Dr. Bland completed his internship and residency at the University of Florida specializing in surgical oncology. He currently serves as the Chief of Surgeons in Birmingham. He is a member of the American Surgical Association, the American College of Surgeons, the Southern Surgical Association, the Southeastern Surgical Congress, and the Association of Academic Surgeons. Dr. Bland has also served as president of the American Surgical Association and vice president of the American College of Surgeons. He has been a member of the Jefferson County Medical Society and the Medical Association since 2001.

Larry D. Brock, M.D., of Mobile, is a graduate of the University of Alabama School of Medicine at Birmingham. A veteran of the U.S. Navy, Dr. Brock completed his internship at Mobile General Hospital and residency at the University of Alabama at Birmingham specializing in otolaryngology and functional medicine. During his professional career, Dr. Brock brought the first coronary calcium scanning machine and introduced bio-identical hormones to the State of Alabama. He also served as the president of Spring Hill Memorial Hospital and Tri-State Otolaryngology. Dr. Brock is a member of the American Medical Association and the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine. He has been a member of the Medical Society of Mobile County and the Medical Association since 1975.

Park T. Chittom, M.D., of Selma, is a graduate of the University of Mississippi. A veteran of the U.S. Air Force, Dr. Chittom completed his internship and residency at the University of Mississippi Hospital specializing in internal medicine. After serving in the U.S. Air Force, he practiced medicine in Selma for 45 years. Dr. Chittom is a member of the American Board of Internal Medicine. He has also been a member of the Dallas County Medical Society and the Medical Association since 1968.

Paul H. Fellers Jr., M.D., of Fairhope, is a graduate of the Louisiana State University School of Medicine. A veteran of the U.S. Navy, Dr. Fellers completed his internship and residency at Mobile County General Hospital specializing in orthopaedic surgery. During his professional career, Dr. Fellers received many accolades, including the Samuel Buford Word Award, the Four Avenues of Service Citation, and the L.E. Rockwell Meritorious Service Award. After practicing medicine in Fairhope for 30 years, Dr. Fellers completed mission work in Kenya, and he is currently completing mission work full-time in Ecuador. Dr. Fellers has been a member of the Baldwin County Medical Society and the Medical Association since 1976.

Elias M. Ghafary, M.D., of Gadsden, is a graduate of the French Faculty of Medicine in Beirut, Lebanon. He completed his internship and residency at the Brooklyn, Cumberland Medical Center specializing in internal medicine. He attended Baylor College of Medicine specializing in nephrology before practicing in Gadsden for 40 years. During his professional career, Dr. Ghafary has been recognized by the North East Alabama Kidney Foundation for using the Keel Dialyzer, coils and parallel plates to hollow fibers. Dr. Ghafary is a member of the American Association of Nephrology and the International Society of Nephrology. He also served as president of the Etowah County Medical Society. He has been a member of the Etowah County Medical Society and the Medical Association since 1977.

Hamp H. Greene III, M.D., of Montgomery, is a graduate of the University of Alabama School of Medicine at Birmingham. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he completed his internship and residency at the University of Utah specializing in neurology. A member of the American Academy of Neurology, Dr. Greene has been named on the Top Doctors list for the State of Alabama. He has been a member of the Montgomery County Medical Society and the Medical Association since 1975.

David W. Hodo, M.D., of Selma, is a graduate of the University of Alabama School of Medicine at Birmingham. A veteran of the U.S. Navy, Dr. Hodo completed his residency at Beverly Hospital and Tulane University School of Medicine and his internship at the Medical University of South Carolina. For more than 40 years, he has been the only psychiatrist to practice in Selma. He is a member of the American Medical Association and did book reviews for the Journal of the American Medical Association. He is also a member of the American Psychiatric Association and did book reviews for the American Journal of Psychiatry as well. As a member of the Alabama Psychiatric Physicians Association, he served as president, board member and on the legislative affairs committee. As a member of the Medical Association, Dr. Hodo served as a member of the CME Committee, book editor and is a member of the College of Counsellors and House of Delegates as a Life Honorary Counsellor. He has been a member of the Dallas County Medical Society and the Medical Association since 1975.

Ward Andrew Keith, M.D., of Birmingham, is a graduate of the Medical College of Alabama. He completed his internship at Carraway Medical Center specializing in family practice. A veteran of the U.S. Army, Dr. Keith practiced in Graysville, Ala. for 40 years. He is a member of the American Medical Association, American Academy of Family Physicians and American Board of Family Physicians. Dr. Keith has been a member of the Jefferson County Medical Society and the Medical Association since 1997.

John M. Kerr II, M.D., of Hamilton, is a graduate of the University of Kentucky College of Medicine. He completed his internship at Baptist Hospital in Nashville, Tenn., specializing as a general practitioner and emergency medicine. During his professional career, Dr. Kerr received many recognitions, including KERR Hall at Heritage Christian University in Florence, the Hospital Physician Hero by the Alabama Hospital Association, and the Quiet Room at North Mississippi Medical Center in Hamilton. Dr. Kerr has served as president, vice president, secretary and treasurer of the Marion County Medical Society as well as president of the Heritage Christian University Board. He has been a member of the Marion County Medical Society and the Medical Association since 1973.

Khalid Latif Punhoon Khan, M.D., of Talladega, is a graduate of Nishtar Medical College in Multan, Pakistan. He completed his internship at Bristol Hospital in Bristol, Conn., and residency at the Veterans Affairs Hospital in Tuskegee specializing in ophthalmology. Dr. Khan is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the Alabama Academy of Ophthalmology, and the American College of Surgeons. He has served as the Chief of Staff for Citizens Baptist Hospital in Talladega since 1995. Dr. Khan has been a member of the Talladega County Medical Society and the Medical Association since 1975.

James W. Mathews Jr., M.D., of Auburn, is a graduate of the University of Alabama School of Medicine. A veteran of the U.S. Army, Dr. Mathews completed his internship and residency at Mobile General Hospital specializing in internal medicine. During his professional career, Dr. Mathews received several honors, including Outstanding Intern, Best Teaching Resident and Citizen of the Year in the Auburn Rotary. He has been a member of the Lee County Medical Society and the Medical Association since 1974.

Devi P. Misra, M.D., of Huntsville, is a graduate of Shri Ramachandra Bhanj Medical College in India. He completed his internship and residency at Prince George’s General Hospital in Maryland specializing in internal medicine and a pulmonary fellowship at the University of Missouri Columbia. Dr. Misra is a member of the American College of Physicians and has been recognized by the Prince of Wales Medical College and the Shri Ramachandra Bhanj Medical College as a chemical tutor. Dr. Misra has been a member of the Huntsville County Medical Society and the Medical Association since 1980.

Ross Bob Mullins Jr, M.D., ­of Wetumpka, is a graduate of the University of Alabama School of Medicine. A veteran of the U.S. Army Medical Corps, he completed his residency at The Medical Center in Columbus, Ga., and his internship at Lloyd Noland Hospital in Fairfield, Ala. Dr. Mullins practiced family medicine in Valley, Ala. for more than 37 years. During his professional career, he received many accolades, including the Garber Galbraith-Political Award from the University of Alabama School of Medicine and the Distinguished Service Award from Lanier Memorial Hospital in Valley. He is an Alumnus Member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society of the University of Alabama School of Medicine. As a member of the American Medical Association, he served as Alternate Delegate and Delegate for Alabama. He is a member of the Alabama Academy of Family Physicians and served as president of the Medical Association of the State of Alabama, as well as vice speaker and speaker of the House of Delegates and College of Counsellors. He has been a member of the Elmore County Medical Society and the Medical Association since 1974.

William I. Park III, M.D., of Mobile, is a graduate of Duke University. A veteran of the U.S. Air Force, he completed his internship at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis and his residency at Campbell Clinic in Memphis specializing in general surgery and orthopaedics. In addition to his medical practice in Mobile, Dr. Park also served as a clinical associate faculty member at the University of South Alabama. During his professional career, he received many accolades, including induction into the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society, the North American Traveling Fellowship, the Rufus Chaote Scholar program, and the Memphis Ivy League Champion Football Teams. While gaining these accomplishments and serving in his medical practice, Dr. Park successfully survived five primary cancers. Dr. Park has been a member of the Mobile County Medical Society and the Medical Association since 1976.

Gillis L. Payne Jr., M.D., of Montgomery, is a veteran of the U.S. Navy and served as a Colonel in the U.S. Air Force U.S. Air Force. He completed his internship at Vanderbilt and residency at the University of Alabama School of Medicine specializing in pediatrics. He is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics. Dr. Payne has been a member of the Montgomery County Medical Society and the Medical Association since 1973.

James C. Pierce, M.D., of Mobile, is a graduate of Louisiana State University School of Medicine. A veteran Lt. Commander of the U.S. Navy, Dr. Pierce completed his internship and residency at Mobile General Hospital specializing in obstetrics and gynecology. He has held positions on the executive boards of several organizations, including president of the Alabama Association of Obstetrics and Gynecology, president of medical staff for the Mobile Infirmary Medical Center, and Board of Censors for the Medical Society of Mobile County. He is also a member of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and served as a Senior Health Care Policy Advisor to then-Sen. Jeff Sessions. During his professional career, Dr. Pierce received several awards, including the Ira Myers Service Award from the Medical Association, and Outstanding Intern and Best Teaching Resident Awards from Mobile General Hospital. Dr. Pierce has been a member of the Mobile County Medical Society and the Medical Association since 1974.

J. Daniel Raulerson, M.D., of Brewton, is a graduate of the University of Florida. A veteran of the U.S. Army, Dr. Raulerson completed his internship at Doval Medical Center in Jacksonville and his residency at Jacksonville Hospital Education Program specializing in internal medicine and nephrology. He has been a member of the Escambia County Medical Society and the Medical Association since 1980.

Perry L. Savage Sr., M.D., of Birmingham, is a graduate of the Medical College of Alabama. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he completed his internship at St. Vincent and his residency at the University of Alabama at Birmingham specializing in orthopaedics with a specialty in spine. Dr. Savage is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the North American Spine Society, and the Jefferson County Orthopaedic Society, where he previously served as president. Dr. Savage has been a member of the Jefferson County Medical Society and the Medical Association since 1968.

John H. Sumners, M.D., of Montgomery, is a graduate of the University of Mississippi. A veteran of the U.S. military, he completed his internship and residency at the University of Mississippi specializing in pediatrics and completed a Pediatric Fellowship. Dr. Sumners has been a member of the Montgomery County Medical Society and the Medical Association since 1973.

Tom M. Walker, M.D., of Mobile, is a graduate of the University of Alabama. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he completed his internship at the University of South Alabama and his residency at Gorgas Hospital specializing in ophthalmology. Dr. Walker is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology; he has also been a member of the Mobile County Medical Society and the Medical Association since 1974.

William G. Watson Jr., M.D., of Dothan, is a graduate of University of Alabama School of Medicine. A veteran of the U.S. Army, Dr. Watson completed his internship at Lloyd Noland Hospital in Fairfield and his residency at Children’s Hospital in Birmingham specializing in pediatric neurology. He has been a member of the Houston County Medical Society and the Medical Association since 1973.

Samuel D. Williams, M.D., is a graduate of the Medical College of Alabama. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he completed his internship at Carraway Methodist Medical Center and his residency at the University of Alabama Hospital. Dr. Williams is a member of the American Medical Association, the American Psychiatric Society, and the Alabama Psychiatric Society, where he previously served as president. He has been a member of the Jefferson County Medical Society and the Medical Association since 1969.
